Seeking to arrange a private book club gathering or a cozy event immersed in literature? Revel in the charming ambiance of Scholar & Scribe Bookshop!

Our standard rate for an after-hours rental is $150, which includes 2 hours of party time and 30 minutes of set-up/30 minutes of clean-up time.

Rentals are available Monday-Thursday after 6pm. Other days/times will be considered on a case by case basis. Email us at hello@scholarandscribe.com to discuss options.

Your rental also includes:
  • Exclusive browsing time – you get the whole shop to yourself! A member of our team will greet you & help you settle in, then leave you to browse/celebrate in peace. We’ll return for the last 15 minutes of your event time to ring up any purchases. We’ll be a phone call away, though, in case of emergency.
  • Table & chairs for your dining comfort, if requested. We are also able to provide plates, cups, cutlery, and napkins.
  • Access to a bluetooth speaker for all of your background music / dance party needs.
  • You are more than welcome to bring whatever you’d like for your party – order in food, bring in entertainment, put up decorations, etc. As long as there’s no damage done to our shelves or merchandise, we’re happy!

Want your party to be extra special but don’t want to fuss over details yourself? We can be your party planners! For a service fee of $100, we will coordinate catering, decorations, entertainment, flowers, etc., per your budget. You’ll receive an itemized invoice for everything purchased.

Yes! As a independent bookseller in a town of creators, we are very supportive of our local writing community. In fact, we host writing workshops and seminars to help local authors grow in their craft. Contact us to learn more!

We accept returns only on unread books in absolutely new condition, purchased at regular price from the store stock, within 30 days after purchase, or books that were defective from the printer. 

When we accept a return, we offer store credit only or in the case of a defective book, a replacement. We do not refund cash, credit cards, or checks. Store credit will be placed onto a store gift card for future use if you are unable to take the time to find a replacement item at the time of return.
