Independent Bookstore Day Celebration

What better day to officially announce our opening than on Independent Bookstore Day?! Join us at Scholar & Scribe for a celebration! We’ll have local authors on site signing their books, story time, Advance Reader Copy (ARC) giveaways, face painting, Stellow Coffee Cart, King of Pops popsicles, and more! • 10:00 am: Story time with Miss Rae, ages 0-5; Stello Coffee Cart arrives!
• 11:00 am: Book signing with actor & writer Taber Cheo; King of Pops arrives!
• 12:00 pm: All things real estate with Atiya Parson, author of Bricks and Blondie 
• 1:00 pm: Discussion on grief & hope with local author Pat Elsberry
• 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm: Face Painting
• 2:00 pm: A conversation with Marissa Phillips, author of For Worse
• 2:00 pm: Activity: decorate your own cookie!
• 3:00 pm: 6+ story time with local author, Michael Albanese
• 4:00 pm: Bike Class with Pattie Baker, author of Round America with a Duck & bicycle enthusiast
• 5:00 pm: Stories of sorrow & survival with Nita Tin, author of Heartbeat of a Survivor
• 6:00 pm: Meet-and-greet with Joe Castillo, sand artist & storyteller
• 7:00 pm until close: Poetry in the Paseo – come write and recite with Rae!

Kids, bring a stuffed animal for a drop-off bookshop sleepover on Friday night. When you pick it back up on Saturday, we’ll show you pictures of their bookstore shenanigans!
